The 4th China International Cartoon And Animation Festival (CICAF2008)

The 4th China International Cartoon And Animation Festival (CICAF2008), an annual event, was held in in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, China, between 28/4 & 3/5/08. Families crowded the city's World Leisure Expo Garden in the evening to enjoy the opening ceremony concert of wonderful performances including those by David Tao, Jolin Tsai and Irish-Norwegian musical duo, Secret Garden, set amidst a lake lit by spectacular fireworks. The business of animation was conducted in an expo/exhibition area of 60,000 square meters with more than 1,400 booths, participated by 300 institutions and enterprises from 17 regions and countries, and attracted 500,000 people. CICAF is the only state-level and international cartoon and animation industrial festival, co-sponsored by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and Zhejiang Provincial Government. In 2006, SARFT designated Hangzhou as the host city for the event. With years of commitment, Hangzhou has build up national industrial creative and production bases for animation, software and other digital products, in an industrial pilot area.

Its large stand at the expo, showcasing its many cartoons and wide range of related merchandise, was very popular with the trade people and public. Also present at the stand were the representatives of CHINAnimax PTE LTD, a Singapore-based distributor worldwide of animation, and an authorized agent of Zhongnan Animation International Pte Ltd which is the sole agent of ZN Animation.
